EXPLORE VERNON THIS JUNE!

SILVER STAR SUMMER SEASON

On June 22, Vernon’s own Silver Star Resort re-opens for the summer season! The snow’s gone, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do – in fact, in many ways there’s even MORE to do! Buy a lift pass and get to the summit with your mountain bike for an absolutely THRILLING ride down the mountain! Go for hikes on Silver Star’s winding paths through the trees and indulge in some truly breathtaking views. Challenge yourself physically by mastering Silver Star’s rugged terrain on your mountain bike or BMX! And, as always, relax with a cappuccino or a basket of fries in Silver Star Resort Village while enjoying the sun and the cool mountain breeze. Silver Star is a must visit any time of the year!

MURAL TOURS

Over the last two decades, Vernon has put itself on the map by creating spectacular, huge murals all over town. The artist behind these stunning pieces, Michelle Loughery, is world-famous for winning the commission of the Brooklyn Fire Department to create their 9/11 memorial mural in New York – that work is currently on photo display at the Smithsonian! But Vernon is where Michelle got her start, and where you can see the most of her incredible work.
On Tuesdays and Fridays throughout June and July, you can join a tour of the murals, led by a knowledgeable guide who will explain the history behind each piece.

PETUNIA AND THE VIPERS

Petunia and The Vipers are a BC band with an incredible sound – none other than Phil Alvin of classic 80s rockers The Blasters once said that The Vipers are the best band on the planet! They’re playing on June 29 at the Elks Lodge; put on your dancing shoes for a swinging good time!
Visiting Vernon? You’ll find your best accommodations at the Village Green Hotel. With upscale amenities at a reasonable cost, we’re your portal into Vernon adventures!
