When you think summer, think Vernon! Beaches, lakes, outdoor adventure, mountains, fishing, orchards pregnant with fruit, fresh vegetables, and farmers’ markets galore! This is Vernon in the summer.

There are over 20 beaches where you can have some water fun. There’s even a beach for pets at Kalamalka Provincial Park and Ellison Provincial Park.

Keep cool as you have fun on water wakeboarding, water skiing, kneeboarding, stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, and snorkeling.

Kalamalka Lake

Kalamalka Lake is one of Canada’s most beautiful lakes. Famous for its gorgeous tropical green waters, which change throughout the year. Kalamalka Lake is situated just south of Vernon. Aside from breathtaking, it’s turquoise green water, are also has plenty of exquisite beaches such as Kal Beach & Cosens Bay Beach. Many of the beaches are easily accessible with public washrooms and surrounding parks.

Swan Lake

Swan Lake Provincial Park BC was built in 1918 and is the 3rd oldest park in British Columbia. The lake is very shallow with a maximum depth of only 3 meters.

Swan Lake and its surrounding wetlands provide some of the best bird watching in BC. It’s breeding, nesting, and migration haven for cusks, waterfowl, marsh birds, and more. The sandy beach and warm waters are perfect for swimming, water-skiing, fishing, and sunbathing. Excellent fishing for Northern Pike and Walleye.

Okanagan Lake

Okanagan Lake is a large, deep lake in the Okanagan Valley of BC. Beautiful sandy beaches surrounded by ponderosa pine and sagebrush make this park the perfect beautiful spot for swimming and water activities. As the two large campgrounds in the park, panoramic views add to your enjoyment. Enjoy scuba diving, paddle trail, or get tan on the beach!
